Traffic policing in Goa needs stricter accountability

This refers to ‘Cat is out of the bag; cops use own mobile to issue challans’ (TGE, May 9). Yet another scam ” traffic personnel using personal mobile phones to photograph violations and issue challans. This is the ugly side of modern technology. Yet another instance of how intelligence and modern technology are being misused. It seems like the mobile phone is the single largest evil, a monster man has created. Just look at the cyber frauds which have wiped out people's life savings.
Needless to say, the traffic department must come down heavily on such unethical practices and regulate the system to ensure that traffic violators are legally penalised for their wrongdoing. Motorists, on their part, need to observe traffic rules to avoid being penalised.
