In addition to questioning the numbers presented by the Panchayat, I noted quite a few Colvenkars making a positive contribution to the progress of the village and villagers, and this included things like budgeting for 1) a tree plantation drive, 2) super senior citizen welfare, 3) a solar panel drive, 4) increasing fines for those creating a garbage menace, and 5) Colva traffic island beautification, etc.
There are many Goans with great corporate, business, and professional experience, which means immense potential for Goans to start contributing to the massive progress of their respective villages, starting from the grassroots level, i.e. Panchayat/Gram Sabha. We hold in our hands the sustainable progress of our respective villages.
