Misplaced fears of foreign journalists

The Norwegian journalist who heckled our Prime Minister is so very wrong, she is under the mistaken notion that there are restrictions on freedom of the press in India. You see, we are at position 157 which is a far, far greater number than Norway's no.1 in the press freedom metrics.

The Indian media can ask all the questions it wants, provided the questions have been cleared by the government and the camera focus is only on Modi. Anyone can pose questions,  whether those questions will be answered is another matter, also what happens to you after your query is something we can only hazard a guess on. All the Central agencies are under the government's control and they could make your life really interesting after you have asked the questions. If you do it via a social media post or a video, the government will ensure that the same is no longer available in India. In extreme cases,  they will take down your account or entire channel itself. The fears of random Norwegian journalists are hugely misplaced. Madam, don't worry about freedom of press, trusting India or about our minorities, they are all doing good, Sab Changa Si!
