Don Bosco Fatorda lifted the Friendship Cup 2026 after defeating host Kaykee Youth Club via a penalty shootout in a thrilling final played at Margao.

Kaykee Youth Club began the match on a bright note, but Don Bosco Fatorda took the lead in the 24th minute through Arron Furtado. However, Kaykee responded quickly as Crossly Baptista restored parity in the 28th minute from a well-timed pass by Tyron D’Costa.

As the second half progressed, the hardworking Tyron D’Costa found the net from an assist by Elroy Silva to put Kaykee Youth Club ahead 2-1. Their joy was short-lived as Don Bosco Fatorda equalised in the 54th minute when Feio Quadres unleashed a long-range effort that took a deflection and beat the goalkeeper, making it 2-2 at the end of regulation time.

In the tiebreaker, Don Bosco Fatorda emerged victorious with successful conversions from Jesus Morries, Arron Furtado, and Feio Quadres. For Kaykee Youth Club, Crossly Baptista and Tyron D’Costa found the target.

The chief guest for the final was Anthea Pereira, former Sarpanch of V.P. Majorda, who distributed prizes to the winners, runners-up, and individual award recipients in the presence of Alisha Pereira and Rekha D’Silva.

Earlier, Keegan Fernandes, Chairperson of Kaykee Youth Club, welcomed the gathering, while Anjulo P. Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
