Mandovi Parivar emerged champions of the prestigious Chhaava Chashak, defeating Palolem Warriors by six wickets in the final organised by Pansulem Brothers Sports & Cultural Club at the Nagarcem Paddy-field ground recently.
Batting first after losing the toss, Palolem Warriors were restricted to a modest 68/6 in their allotted overs. Surendra Pagi top-scored with 21 runs, while Somesh Prabhudesai (20) and Sahil Arolkar (18) offered some resistance. For Mandovi Parivar, Nikhil Pagi starred with the ball, picking up 2 wickets for just 9 runs, supported by Vinesh Satarkar and Babal Zore with one wicket each.
In reply, Mandovi Parivar chased down the target comfortably, scoring 69/4 in just 5.5 overs. Vinesh Satarkar played a blistering knock of 37 runs off 15 balls, while Shubham added a quick 16 off 7 balls to seal a commanding victory.
For Palolem Warriors, Gurushant Pagi took two wickets and Sameer Pagi claimed one, but it was not enough to stop Mandovi’s dominant chase.
Mandovi Parivar received a cash prize of ₹2,22,222 along with the winner’s trophy, while Palolem Warriors earned ₹1,11,111 as runners-up.
The semifinalists Thunder Strikers and Aashvi XI were also felicitated. Individual awards went to Surendra Pagi (Best Batsman), Sameer Pagi (Best Bowler), and Vinesh Satarkar, who was named both Man of the Match in the final and Player of the Tournament.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Shekhar Desai, Anil Dessai, and Shyam Dessai, who congratulated the winners and organisers for the successful conduct of the tournament.
