PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will present the State Budget for 2026“27 at 3.30 pm on Friday in the Goa Legislative Assembly.
The Budget is expected to be the last full-fledged financial statement of the incumbent government before the State heads for Assembly elections early next year.
Speaking to mediapersons, Sawant said the Budget speech is likely to last about two hours and will focus on people-centric initiatives.
“Tentatively, I will present the State Budget 2026-27 at 3.30 pm today. The Budget speech will go on for around two hours. It will be people-centric with several new initiatives,” he said.
Sawant, who also holds the Finance portfolio, will present his seventh consecutive State Budget, marking an uninterrupted run in fiscal management since 2020.
“This will be my seventh Budget” he added.
Meanwhile, the 14-day Budget Session of the Goa Legislative Assembly will commence at 11.30 am on Friday. During the session, 656 starred questions and 2,108 unstarred questions will be tabled by legislators.
In addition, the House will also take up 19 private members’ resolutions and 21 private members’ Bills, along with three government Bills scheduled for consideration during the session.
