Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday tabled the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the Budget 2025“26 assurances in the Legislative Assembly, stating that the government has acted on nearly all the commitments made in last year’s Budget.
Of the 643 assurances announced when the Budget was presented in March 2025, as many as 640, accounting for 99.53 per cent have either been completed or initiated and are expected to be implemented soon.
“Out of 643 Budget assurances, 640 that is 99.53 per cent have been completed or initiated and are likely to be completed soon. Only three Budget assurances have been dropped due to various administrative reasons,” the ATR stated.
According to the report, three proposals have been dropped. These include the plan to introduce a single-point taxation system for liquor, granting State festival status to the Devi Lairai Jatra at Shirgao along with facilities for devotees, and a proposal to supply 30 MLD of raw water to Panaji and nearby areas by augmenting Bondwal lake through the TIP canal.
The ATR highlights several initiatives that have already been implemented or completed. These include the revival of the one-time settlement scheme for resolving legacy VAT disputes, revamping of the Mhaji Bus scheme, construction of the Coastal Security Police Station at Chapora, implementation of an online inventory management system, and hot-mixing and widening of various roads across the State.
The government has also increased the honorarium of Panch members by ₹1,000 and that of Sarpanchs and Zilla Panchayat members by ₹2,000. Other measures mentioned in the report include the introduction of the Unified Pension Scheme from 2025“26 and the Mhaje Ghar policy aimed at providing land rights to eligible Goans.
The report further states that multiple sewerage projects across the State are progressing towards completion. Around 95 per cent of the sewer network has been laid in Curti, while work in Bandora has reached about 85 per cent completion. In Sanquelim Phase II, nearly 40.8 km of sewer network has been laid, and work on the sewage treatment plant is underway, with civil works in Porvorim currently about 75 per cent complete.
Similarly, nearly 95 per cent of the sewer network in Navelim has been completed, with 32 km of the planned 101 km already commissioned. Sewerage works in Colva have also progressed significantly, with about 95 per cent of the network completed.
