The Goa government has launched a mushroom cultivation training programme under the Chief Minister’s Kaushalya Path Scheme to promote self-employment and eco-friendly farming.

The Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship signed an MoU with Mapusa-based Vanashrubs Private Limited in the presence of CM Pramod Sawant. The three-day course will be held at Vanashrubs’ laboratory in the Mapusa Industrial Estate, with ten participants in each batch. Trainees will receive scientific and practical training in oyster mushroom cultivation.

The course fee is Rs 500. Officials said participants would gain skills to start small-scale mushroom farming units and earn sustainable income through agri-based entrepreneurship.
