Goa Assembly should urge PM Modi to mediate for global peace: BJP MLA

PANAJI: BJP MLA Michael Lobo today said that India should play a greater role in global diplomacy and urged that the Goa Legislative Assembly appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mediate and help bring peace amid ongoing international conflicts.

Speaking during the Assembly proceedings, Lobo said that India, under the leadership of Modi, has emerged as a global voice and can play a constructive role in resolving international crises. He stressed that mediation by India is necessary to end ongoing wars and restore peace across regions affected by conflict.

“Somewhere mediation from our country is needed to bring peace. Our Prime Minister, who is known as a global leader, should mediate to bring peace in the world,” Lobo said.

He further suggested that the Goa Legislative Assembly should pass a resolution urging the Prime Minister to take the initiative in global peace efforts.

Referring to the tensions in the Middle East, Lobo said the crisis needs to be resolved at the earliest as prolonged wars could have far-reaching consequences globally.

“The ongoing war needs to stop and the Middle East crisis must end. If the conflict continues, regions like Goa could also face serious repercussions,” he said.
