UN must get its act together and work to ensure truce

As the war initiated by US and Israel against Iran has thrown the Arab world into a spiralling conflict, the role of the United Nations (UN) is under the scanner. With the USA turning into the world's unipolar power and Russia being entangled in the war with Ukraine, the UN has failed to alleviate the sufferings of millions in the Arab world. The tremors of the escalation are even felt by us in India, as a large section of our expatriates work and live in the Arab world. Also, the rise in domestic LPG prices remains a concern. The UN must get its act together and ensure the warring countries agree to a truce at the earliest.
