Sai Samarth Young Boys emerge victorious

Sai Samarth Young Boys emerged champions of the inaugural Under-16 T20 Floodlight Cricket Tournament after defeating Betim XI in the final played at the Margao Cricket Club Ground.

The tournament, organised in memory of late Pranav Mishal, was jointly hosted by Sai Samarth Young Boys Goa and Politics XI Cricket Club Mapusa in association with the Goa Cricket Association.

Chasing a target of 135, Sai Samarth Young Boys comfortably reached 135 for 2 in 17.1 overs after Betim XI had earlier posted 134 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. Kushal Satardekar played a match-winning knock of an unbeaten 74 runs, striking 11 boundaries, and was named Player of the Match.

Among the individual honours, Kushal Satardekar also received the Best Batsman award, while Amit Gawas bagged the Best Bowler and Man of the Series titles for claiming nine wickets at an economy rate of 4.08. Svanik Phadte was adjudged Upcoming Player, while Shrishal Ghate won the Best Catch award.

During the function, he also felicitated Purvaja Prashant Verlekar on her selection to the India A women’s T20 squad for the England tour scheduled in June 2026.
