Goa’s top paddlers set for Saxtti UTTTC showdown

Saxtti Sports and Cultural Club will organise the inaugural Saxtti UTTTC (Ultimate Table Tennis Team Championship) on Sunday, May 17, at Gomant Vidhya Niketan, bringing together some of Goa’s top table tennis talent in a unique team-based format.
The championship will feature veterans, current state players, former state paddlers, and leading talents competing across eight teams ” Smash and Dash, Nivian Vipers, Kiran Titans, Nopex Ninjas, Goa Superkings, Sameer Spinners, GCC Paddlers, and Uniqlo Warriors.
The tournament is expected to showcase several prominent Goan paddlers, including Wesley Do Rosario, Chandan Caro, Ishita Colaco, Anushri Naik, Samaira Soares, Dhruva Kamat, Pradnya Caro, and Shantesh Mapsekar.
The club aims to encourage participation in table tennis and badminton across age groups while promoting physical and mental well-being. It also plans to expand into cultural, educational, and social initiatives, besides developing dedicated sports facilities in the future.
Emphasising the role of sports in shaping discipline and teamwork, club president Dr Brennan Tavares said, “No matter how demanding life becomes, never give up on sports. With balance and consistency, it can remain a lifelong source of fitness, joy, and connection.”
The organisers also plan to conduct regular tournaments, increase school participation, and strengthen Goa’s sporting culture through future initiatives.
