Palolem Warriors, Loliem Tigers and Maratha Warriors register wins

Palolem Warriors, Loliem Tigers, Maratha Warriors and The Stunners emerged victorious in their respective league matches of the 1st Chetan Manju Desai Leather Ball T-20 Cricket Tournament, being played at the GCA Ground, Mashem.

On the third day, Palolem Warriors posted 140/9 and went on to defeat Maratha Warriors (125 all out) by 15 runs. Surendra Pagi starred with the bat, scoring a quickfire 52 off 32 balls, including three sixes and seven fours. His effort overshadowed Saiesh Kamat’s 51 off 31 balls for Maratha Warriors. Pravesh Pagi, who was named Man of the Match, contributed 32 runs off 30 balls and claimed four wickets for 27 runs in his four overs.

In the second match, Loliem Tigers comfortably chased down 73 runs, finishing at 73/2 in just 8.3 overs against Shivneri Strikers, who were bowled out for 72 in 14.4 overs. Man of the Match Animesh Prabhu led the bowling attack with four wickets, while Vinesh Satarkar and Santosh Satarkar picked up two wickets each. Santosh Satarkar (34 off 22) and Durgesh Prabhugaonkar (32 off 23) guided the Tigers to an easy win.

Earlier in the tournament, Maratha Warriors registered a commanding 66-run win over Patnem-Colomb Avengers, scoring 182/6 while restricting their opponents to 116/7. Aman Komarpant earned the Man of the Match award for his all-round performance of 41 off 25 balls and two wickets for 18 runs.

Shivneri Strikers also secured a win against Hands-Fighters Tarir, chasing down 99/3 after bowling out their opponents for 98. Kushwant Bhagat was the standout performer with five wickets for just 17 runs.

On the second day, Young Maratha defeated Panyefond Mangan Stars by six wickets, chasing 64 after bundling them out for 63. Akshay Bhandari was named Man of the Match for his four-wicket haul.

In another match, The Stunners defeated Royal Tigers Faskali by five wickets. Chasing 103, The Stunners reached 106/5, thanks to an all-round performance by Man of the Match Darpan Pagi, who scored 28 runs and picked up five wickets for 18 runs.
