The letter 'Transport minister and low trust deficit with taxi union ' by Arwin Mesquita (TGE Mar 17 ) has hit the nail on the head as there remains no other alternative than to replace the Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho. He has had a fairly long innings of a fruitless ministry that has failed miserably to resolve the decade long vexed taxi problem. Enough of guidelines have been drawn up by the department which were found to be unacceptable to the taxi unions. It is therefore time for someone more competent to make taxi fares transparent and affordable which will benefit both taxi operators and the people of Goa. It is time for the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to act now.
