Margao bus terminus stalled for years

The foundation stone for the modern Margao bus terminus was laid by former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat in October 2011. Despite Margao’s status as the commercial hub of South Goa, the project has been mired in years of delays, stemming from disputes between the transport minister and the MLAs of Margao and Fatorda.

While the government rushes to push through projects unpopular with the people of Goa, this crucial South Goa main bus terminal -- which serves as a key hub connecting bus services across Goa and beyond -- remains stalled with repeated excuses.

It is unclear where the allocated budget is being spent, especially when funds appear to be diverted toward entertainment projects instead of fulfilling promises made to the citizens of Goa.

We call on Chief Minister and BJP leader Damu Naik to step in promptly and ensure that this vital infrastructure project finally becomes a reality.
