BJP-backed corporator Sushant Naik's son Soham is facing 5th FIR in the alleged Curchorem sex scandal case.
Sources in the Crime Branch (CB), probing all cases against him, said that in the latest case, both the victim and the accused were adults at the time of the alleged offence.
Meanwhile, the Children’s Court has remanded the accused to 14 days of judicial custody. He will be taken into custody for the next offense.
CB said the accused allegedly targeted a large number of victims over a period of three years. Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) suspects that over 100 minor girls may have been exploited. The victims are said to be from Curchorem, Margao, Vasco, and Ponda.
Naik, a resident of Madhegal, Cacora, and son of a Curchorem-Cacora councillor, was arrested on March 21 following public protests outside the Curchorem Police Station.
The case has triggered widespread outrage across the state, with GPCC leading a protest march in Panaji on Saturday, demanding protection, privacy, and justice for the victims and their families.
