Swift fire brigade action controls fire in Valpoi

A fire broke out in dry grass near the Mamlatdar office in Valpoi on Sunday afternoon. The fire brigade responded quickly and brought the blaze under control, preventing major damage.
According to available information, the fire started suddenly in the dry grass within the Mamlatdar office premises.
On receiving the alert, the Valpoi Fire and Emergency Services team rushed to the spot.
The team, led by leading firefighter Satish K. Naik, began operations using a hose reel. After about an hour of continuous effort, the fire was completely extinguished.
The operation involved Prasad P. Naik (driver operator), Somnath K. Gaonkar, Gangaram D. Pavne, Kalidas H. Gaonkar, Aditya L. Gawas, and Rupesh U. Gaonkar.
The fire caused an estimated loss of Rs 25,000. However, due to the prompt action of the fire brigade, property worth around Rs 50,000 was saved.
Residents expressed relief as the quick response prevented a potentially serious incident.
