A 26-year-old carpenter hailing from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh was killed when his motorcycle collided with a bus at Walkeshwarwada, Betim in the wee hours of Monday
According to reports, the incident took place at about 1.15 am when Akash Japrakash Kumar was riding a motorcycle from Verem to Malim. Incidentally, Kumar had arrived in Goa barely two days ago to visit his sister who lives in the State.
Near the Rehan Salon in Walkeshwarwada, the motorcycle collided with an oncoming bus. Kumar sustained serious injuries and was moved to the Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
On receiving information about the incident, a Porvorim Police team led by PSI Arun Shirodkar went to the spot and conducted the panchnama. After conducting an autopsy, police handed over the body to the family for final rites.
