Gold jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh stolen from parked Mercedes

A 22-year-old tourist from Kolhapur has lodged a theft complaint after gold ornaments worth Rs 5 lakh were allegedly stolen from his parked luxury car at a water sports facility in Nadora, Bardez.

The incident occurred between 5.30 pm on May 17 and 9 am on May 18 at Stoke India for Jet Boarding Water Sports located at Nadora.

Police said the complainant Raj Chavan of Kholapur had kept a 15-gram gold chain and a 35-gram diamond-studded gold bracelet with a latch-clasp system inside his Mercedes car.

The vehicle was parked in an open parking area while Chavan and his friends were engaged in water sports activities.

During this period, an unknown accused allegedly stole the ornaments, valued at Rs 5 lakh, from the vehicle. An offence has been registered under Section 303 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against an unidentified person. The investigation is being carried out by PSI Dattaraj Rane.
