Goa Budget 2026 | Sustainable TCP practices to address green concerns

PANAJI
Amid the ongoing controversy over alleged rampant destruction of the State’s environment and ecology due to zoning changes and hill cutting, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday announced that the Town and Country Planning Department will adopt sustainable practices to maintain environmental balance.
“While addressing the needs of the people of the State, as well as those of the tourism and construction sectors, the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department will adopt sustainable practices to maintain environmental balance,” Sawant said while presenting the State Budget.
He also said the government will expand the scope of the Online Building Plan Approval and Management System (OBPAMS) this year. Sawant said that once the system is expanded, permissions for large-scale construction works will also be granted through the online platform.
