Rebello Pandal Maina enter quarterfinals

MARGAO

Edwin Sequeira struck twice as Rebello Pandal Maina edged past Fatorda Fire to storm into the quarterfinals of the All Goa Rebello Pandal Football Tournament at St. Rita Church Ground, Maina, on Wednesday.

Fatorda Fire drew first blood in the 10th minute through Floyd, who finished neatly to put his side ahead. Rebello Pandal Maina had a chance to restore parity before the break, but Joylan failed to convert, leaving Fatorda with a slender lead at half-time.

After the restart, Rebello Pandal Maina regrouped swiftly and found the equaliser through Edwin Sequeira. Floyd then had an opportunity to extend Fatorda’s advantage but squandered the chance.

With the match heading towards a draw, Sequeira rose to the occasion once again, netting the decisive goal in injury time to complete his brace and seal a thrilling victory for Rebello Pandal Maina.

Ismail, a football enthusiast, presented the Man of the Match award to the Fatorda Fire goalkeeper for his impressive performance.
