The Goa University Inter-Collegiate Men’s Cricket Championship 2025“26 continued on its fifth day with Government College of Arts & Commerce, Pernem defeating P.E.S. College of Education, Farmagudi by nine wickets, while St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa beat Goa College of Pharmacy, Panjim by 57 runs at the Goa University Cricket Ground.
In the first match, P.E.S. College of Education, Farmagudi won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 115 for 6 in 20 overs, with Satyam Gawas top-scoring with 42 off 30 balls and Yogesh Gaonkar adding 12 off 14 deliveries. Manish Rao was the standout bowler for Pernem with figures of 3 for 24, while Chandrakant Naik claimed 2 for 21.
Chasing the target, Government College of Arts & Commerce, Pernem reached 118 for 1 in just 12.2 overs. Raj Naik led the charge with a quickfire 71 off 34 balls, while Sarthak Naik contributed 33 off 37 deliveries. Rahul Naik picked up the lone wicket for Farmagudi. Raj Naik was adjudged the Best Batter, while Manish Rao was named the Best Bowler of the match.
In the second match, Goa College of Pharmacy, Panjim won the toss and opted to bowl first. St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa posted a competitive 198 for 7 in their 20 overs. Vishwam Fadte scored 42 off 31 balls and Vedant Chandekar made 38 off 26 deliveries. Apurv Shirodkar impressed with the ball for Pharmacy College, taking 3 for 23, while Sumit Sulebhavikar picked up 2 for 39.
In reply, Goa College of Pharmacy, Panjim managed 141 for 6 in their 20 overs. Heramb Kanolkar scored 40 off 45 balls, while Vrushab Naik added 37 off 27 deliveries. Abhinandan Mishra returned figures of 2 for 10 for St. Xavier’s, while Vedant Chandekar took 2 for 33.
Vedant Chandekar of St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa was named the Best Batter, while Apurv Shirodkar of Goa College of Pharmacy, Panjim was adjudged the Best Bowler.
