Beyond mere amusement, the recent daily spectacle of Netanyahu's “I’m alive and I have all five fingers” routine reveals how the ruling class seems to assume the public is gullible, despite unprecedented access to information and technology. And if people aren’t already manipulated or misled, there’s an unsettling sense that the system is designed to push them in that direction.
This kind of condescension feels less like isolated behaviour and more like part of a broader, ongoing effort to shape perception and manage public thought, aided aggressively further by a pliant media and technology. Our leaders also know the tricks of the trade and utilize them to their benefit as it does seem that in India at least you can fool all the people all of the time.
