Stray dog menace becoming a serious safety challenge

Citizens have raised their voices multiple times against the stray dog issue in Goa, particularly in the coastal areas. I had recently gone for a jog on Benaulim beach but was set upon by a pack of strays. Thanks to a gentleman with a stick who shooed away the dogs, I was saved. The beaches are overrun by a whole army of dangerous strays, and the government pays lip service to tackling the menace. Foreign tourists are avoiding Goa solely because of fears of being bitten by these canines; many have already suffered harm. Culling is resorted to even in advanced countries; it is the only viable solution.

Benaulim: A beach queen now a safety nightmare

Benaulim beach was once known as the queen of South Goa beaches, but things have gone south now. Garbage is seen piled on the sands, and the control gear of the high mast is exposed to the elements, raising dangers of electrocution. Also, there is a concrete pedestal with exposed electrical cables emanating from it, posing a hazard to beach users using the seating promenade.
