If the public experience issues with domestic gas agencies or stockists involved in black marketing, hoarding, or overcharging, they can take action through official channels. Authorities across the country have been urged to intervene wherever shortages or suspected malpractice are reported. As part of vigilance, the government should also deploy active supervisors at suspicious gas godowns to monitor distribution. To initiate an investigation that may lead to the cancellation of an agency’s licence, the public should report such malpractice to the relevant authorities. LPG emergency and complaint helplines can be used to report delivery delays, overcharging, or black marketing.
Domestic LPG supply is monitored by the Food Department under the State government. Consumers can file a formal complaint with the District Collector or the District Food Officer. They can also contact the respective company directly to report a dealer’s illegal activities through official platforms such as the Indian Oil app or portal, the BPCL website or app, or the HP Gas portal. Selling domestic cylinders for commercial use or at inflated prices must be exposed. Consumers should keep records of booking references, call recordings, or messages as evidence. If an agency is unreliable, they may request a distributor transfer through the OMC website or app.
