Two K’taka men booked for casino chip theft

PORVORIM:  Two persons from Karnataka have been booked for allegedly stealing casino chips worth Rs 2 lakh from a gaming table at a casino in Porvorim and fleeing the premises.

According to Porvorim police, the casino manager lodged a complaint stating that Hussen Jamakhandi (27) from Yaragatti in Belagavi and Ashoka Shetru (26) from Davanagere, Karnataka, allegedly stole casino chips worth Rs 2 lakh from a gaming table at around 9 pm on May 24. The duo reportedly fled the casino after the theft.

Based on the complaint, Porvorim police registered an offence under Section 305 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, against the two accused. PSI Arun Shirodkar of Porvorim Police Station is investigating the case.
