Three booked for theft of gold ornaments from hotel

MARGAO: Colva police have registered a case against three persons in connection with the theft of gold ornaments worth Rs 13 lakh from a star hotel in Cavelossim.

According to the complaint filed by Rajyesh Kumar Patni, a resident of New Delhi, the incident took place on 11 May 2026 at around 11.30 am at the resort in Cavelossim. The three accused, who are from Assam, Mormugao and Khanapur in Belagavi district, allegedly stole gold ornaments weighing around 80 to 90 grams and valued at Rs 13 lakh.

The theft reportedly occurred after the complainant’s wife accidentally left the ornaments behind in the hotel room while checking out.
