Addressing a press conference following party’s Executive committee meeting this morning, the leaders said that a “false narrative” was being intentionally spread to mislead the public about the party’s future in Goa politics.
Party president Manoj Parab and General Secretary Vishwas Naik, leader Ajay Kholkar reaffirmed that the party remains united and will actively contest the 2027 Goa Assembly elections despite the recent internal tensions within the organisation.
Parab alleged that certain individuals within the organisation were attempting to divide the party along communal lines. “The issue has been continuing for over a year. Internal sabotage was already taking place using religious divisions. Some people were trying to create a parallel power structure within the party and eventually take control,” Parab alleged.
Parab also emotionally stated that he had repeatedly warned MLA Viresh Borkar about attempts by certain members to create divisions within the party leadership. “I literally cried before Borkar not to allow our party to divide,” he said.
Earlier, Kholkar informed that a show cause notice has been issued to party MLA, who failed to attend party’s last three meetings and for his active involvement with Julius Almeida, who is facing action for anti-party activities.
“MLA had skipped several Central Executive Committee meetings and carried out block-level campaigning without informing the party leadership, thereby violating internal party protocol. We will officially call the MLA to the party office tomorrow and seek clarification,” Kholkar said.
He said that Almeida had been served a clarification notice for allegedly working against the interests of the party and trying to influence supporters by suggesting that Manoj Parab should be removed as party president.
