Man assaulted, scooter damaged over personal dispute in Canca

A 36-year-old businessman from Khalapwado, Canca, was allegedly assaulted and threatened by a local resident following a personal dispute, police said.

According to the complaint filed by Rohan Ratikant Korgaonkar, the incident occurred around 3 pm near Anup Sherol Gym at Khalapwado in Canca. 

The accused, identified as Pitu alias Willson Fernandes, a resident of the same area, allegedly abused the complainant using filthy language before attacking him.

Police said the accused is alleged to have assaulted Korgaonkar with a stone, causing bodily injuries. 

He also reportedly issued threats to kill the complainant.

In addition to the assault, the accused allegedly damaged the complainant’s scooter resulting in an estimated loss of around Rs 20,000.

An offence has been registered under Sections 352, 351(3), 118(2), and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Further investigation is in progress.
