PANAJI
The High Court of Bombay at Goa heard a petition seeking directions to the State government to remove the current Dean of Goa Dental College, who has been granted a post-retirement extension.
During the hearing, the State informed the court that a proposal submitted by the Dean for a further extension is pending. The government counsel further submitted that her present extended tenure is due to end on March 31, and no decision has yet been taken on the fresh proposal.
The counsel requested that the matter be listed on April 1, submitting that if the government rejects the extension, the petition would not survive. Accepting the submission, the High Court adjourned the matter for hearing on April 1.
