MARGAO
The Enough is Enough movement has entered Salcete taluka, with the organisers planning two meetings in the taluka before the mega meeting at Panaji later this month.
A public meeting has been convened at the Colva Church Parish Hall on May 21 at 6.30 pm as part of the ongoing campaign to spread awareness on the issues taken up by the Enough is Enough movement.
Enough is Enough Salcete Coordinator Serafino Cota has appealed to the people of the constituencies of Benaulim and Nuvem to attend the meeting in large numbers and express their solidarity with the movement.
He said the meeting scheduled for Colva is part of the statewide campaign undertaken by the organisation to spread awareness among the people on the TCP amendments and how they pose a threat to the state’s environment and land resources.
He said the meeting will be addressed by retired Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Justice Ferdino Rebello, and other prominent speakers. “The time has come for the people to show their solidarity with the leaders to take the movement forward to its logical conclusion,” he said.
Cota made a fervent appeal to the people inhabiting the Salcete coastal belt and the villages of the Nuvem constituency to attend the meeting in large numbers.
