Hitting out at Goa Forward Party President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral asserted that he stands firmly with the people of Curchorem and strongly condemns the recent sex scandal that has rocked his constituency and brought disrepute to the area.
Reacting to statements made by Sardesai, Cabral stated that he would be the first to act against any such immoral activities, emphasising that he entered politics to serve society and not to support or tolerate wrongdoing of any kind.
Clarifying his absence, Cabral said he was in Kerala in connection with the upcoming elections and was therefore not in Goa. He cautioned that his absence should not be misused by politicians from other constituencies to visit Curchorem and make statements for personal or political gain.
Addressing internal party dynamics, Cabral dismissed claims of factionalism within the BJP in Curchorem. He asserted that there is no “Team A” or “Team B” and that party workers in the constituency remain united and work collectively.
He further added that if any information about victims in the alleged sex scandal comes to light, he would personally reach out to them and their families to encourage cooperation with the police, with the aim of ensuring such incidents are prevented in the future.
