Setting the rhythm for a cultural celebration, the Cultural Procession, showcasing the culture and traditions of Goa and Goan community, gave a start to the Goan Cultural Carnival. Dressed in colourful outfits to stay true to the roots and traditions of Goa, the students created a visual spectacle highlighting diversity. The atmosphere carried a sense of anticipation as the performances, in skit, one-act play, group dance, folk dance, folk orchestra, throughout the day showcased not just skill, but stories of culture and traditions. Each performance was a showcase of passion of the participants and their efforts.
One of the major highlights of the event was Face of the Fest, which added a dynamic touch as it encouraged participants to showcase their individuality and confidence. It truly captured the spirit of self-expression that defined the whole cultural carnival. Dr Devanshu Patel, Director Parul Education Trust, the sponsoring body of Parul University, Goa, also graced the occasion.
The Goan Cultural Carnival 2026 stood more than just an event filled with performances. It became a day that truly reflected the impact of how art and culture can bring together people.
Later briefing the media, Parul Education Trust Director Dr Devanshu Patel informed that of the total 570 students currently enrolled in the Parul University, around 530 students hail from Goa. He disclosed plans to gradually expand the University in the coming years.
He acknowledged the support extended by Quepem MLA Alton D’Costa and the local Panchayat throughout the establishment of the University.
In his address, the Quepem MLA told the media that he is glad that 530 out of total 570 students studying in the Parul University at Naqueri-Betul are from Goa. Saying that the University has provided employment to youth from Quepem constituency, Alton made a request to the Director Parul University to consider employing the local Quepem youth as and when the University is expanded in the coming years.
