Tourist booked for reckless driving on Arrosim beach

A tourist from Maharashtra has been booked by Verna police for allegedly driving recklessly on Arrosim beach on Tuesday evening, putting the safety of beach visitors and tourists at risk.

According to police, the incident took place at around 5.15 pm on the beach stretch at Arrosim.

The accused, identified as Rashidbeg Sadikbeg Inamdar (26) from Ichalkaranji in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra, allegedly drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner, causing panic among people present at the beach.   

Police said his actions posed a serious threat to human life and public safety, and could have caused injury to beach visitors and tourists. Based on a complaint, Verna police registered an offence under Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Carry Fernandes under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
