Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday inaugurated the two-day ‘Goa Shackathon - Work from Goa’ initiative at Baga Beach, saying the state is steadily evolving into a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship and flexible work culture beyond its identity as a tourism destination.

The initiative has been organised by Goa Tourism and the Directorate of Information Technology.

Addressing the gathering, Sawant said Goa was creating new opportunities for the younger generation through startups, co-working ecosystems, digital infrastructure and skill development programs.

During the event, the CM felicitated trainees in 3D printing and drone technology, women achievers under the Mahila Shashaktikaran Abhiyan, members of Goa’s creative community and individuals associated with innovation and technology-driven initiatives in the state.

The event received more than 700 registrations from across the country while 300 participants were shortlisted.
