Officials seize 38 commercial LPG cylinders in Sangolda Civil Supplies Department Assistant Director Deepa Phulari, Inspector Rajiv Sawant and co-officers with commercial gas cylinders seized in Sangolda.

Officials from the Civil Supplies at Bardez seized 38 commercial LPG cylinders illegally stored at a secluded place in Sangolda on Monday evening.

The civil supplies department had instructed its taluka officers across the State to be vigilant to prevent black marketing of LPG cylinders. Accordingly, stock held by LPG supply agencies is being monitored and inspected by the officers of the campaign department.

Under the leadership of Assistant Director of Civil Supplies Department Deepa Fulari, a team comprising Inspector Rajiv Sawant of Bardez Division, Sub-Inspector Sarvesh Naik Tuyekar, Vasudev Shirodkar, Rohit Talankar, Sadashiv Khandeparkar and Sub-Inspector Jeevan Palyekar was in Sangolda, when they found an LPG supply vehicle at an isolated place.

The team questioned the driver and the worker of the vehicle about the LPG cylinders, but they fled from the spot. The team found 38 commercial gas cylinders, comprising 18 sealed and 20 unsealed cylinders at the site.

A gas agency's book was found in the tempo with the cylinders, fuelling suspicion that the LPG cylinder stock belongs to the agency.

All the LPG cylinders seized along with the vehicle were later handed over to Saligao police for action.

In this regard, the assistant director of the department, Deepa Fulari, has lodged a complaint with the police. Saligao police are conducting further investigation in the matter.
