In a letter dated December 23, 2025, addressed to the Chairperson of the MPA at Headland, Sada, the association said that a conference held on November 16, 2025, at Ravindra Bhavan, Baina, Vasco, had unanimously passed several resolutions raising key issues affecting pensioners.
One of the main demands is the withdrawal of any proposal to close the Port Hospital. The association stated that no other port in India has shut down its hospital or adopted a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. It added that if a PPP model is introduced, the annual subscription fees of pensioners and family pensioners must be paid by the MPA.
The association has also demanded payment of arrears under the second formula or methodology before New Year 2026. It has sought medical benefits for SPVRS retirees who retired before 2017, on par with those who retired after 2017.
It has further demanded that 50 per cent of ELR service be counted for pension benefits.
Other demands include distribution of the 2026 Port calendars to pensioners and full reimbursement of medical bills in line with the Supreme Court judgment.
The association has warned that if the demands are not met within 30 days of receiving the notice, pensioners will hold a protest in front of the MPA Administrative Office.
