Leopard cub found dead at Paliem

A leopard cub was found dead at Bagatwada in Paliem, Pernem, prompting the Forest Department to inspect the area and launch an investigation.

According to preliminary information, local residents spotted the cub’s carcass in a wooded area and alerted the Forest Department.

A team of officials rushed to the site, took custody of the carcass and began inquiries into the incident.

The exact cause of the cub’s death is yet to be determined. Forest officials said the cause will be known only after the post-mortem report is received. The incident has raised concerns among local residents and sparked discussions about the presence of leopards in the area.

The Forest Department has appealed to the public not to spread rumours and to immediately report any sightings of wild animals to the department.
