A group of students led by Goa University Students Council General Secretary Soham Raut submitted a representation to Goa Forward President Vijai Sardesai, urging him to raise key student issues in the upcoming session of the Goa Legislative Assembly. The students highlighted several concerns affecting their academic experience at Goa University and colleges across the State.

On the revaluation process, they pointed to delays and lack of clarity in the declaration of results. They stressed that timely revaluation results are crucial for academic progression and future opportunities, and called for a more efficient, transparent and time-bound system. The delegation also sought the extension of the Bal Rath facility to college students. At present, the scheme covers students only up to Class 12. They said many economically disadvantaged college students face transport difficulties and requested either an extension of the scheme or a similar support measure.

The students further demanded dedicated bus services from every taluka to Goa University, noting that many travel long distances daily. Poor connectivity, they said, leads to travel stress, added financial burden, safety concerns, especially for female students, and frequent late arrivals or absenteeism.

They also called for stronger internet connectivity on campus, stating that reliable, high-speed Wi-Fi is essential for research, online classes, assignments and access to e-resources. Additionally, they urged the installation and proper maintenance of sanitary pad vending machines to ensure hygiene and dignity for female students.
