Saying the BJP may hope to benefit from the ongoing tit-for-tat war over the remarks on St Francis Xavier and the subsequent derogatory remarks made against Hindu gods and deities, Sardesai said the people of Goa are wise enough to understand the game plan unfolding in the state.
“Godinho should be sacked from the Cabinet for inviting people to attend the programme and then endorsing Khattar’s remarks on St Francis Xavier. If the Transport Minister is not sacked, it would imply that the government is part of the conspiracy to invite Khattar to Goa,” he added.
The Goa Forward chief also slammed the government for failing to protect traditional fishermen from illegal fishing activities by outstation boats.
