The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has condemned the alleged Curchorem sex scandal and demanded a court-monitored, time-bound and independent investigation. The party also alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Goa Police are trying to suppress the case to protect those involved.

An AAP delegation marched to the Panaji Police Headquarters to submit a memorandum, saying the incident has caused widespread concern across the state.

Speaking to the media, AAP Goa President Valmiki Naik compared the case to the alleged Miramar sex scandal, claiming that earlier cases were suppressed and victims are still waiting for justice.

AAP alleged that authorities failed to act initially and responded only after public pressure. It claimed the police did not reveal the accused’s identity at first due to alleged political links, and that details emerged only after pressure.

The party also accused the police of handling the case leniently, saying stricter provisions under child protection laws were applied only after NGO intervention.

AAP has demanded regular public updates and warned it will escalate the matter if action is not taken.
