15-member nodal team set up for Ponda by-poll South Goa district Collector Egna Cleetus Chairing a meeting of the nodal officers in view of the Ponda by-poll.

South Goa district Electoral Officer Egna Cleetus has appointed a total of 15 nodal officers in the preparedness and conduct of the Ponda by-poll.

The nodal officers have been given specific tasks to handle, such as law and order, manpower and training management, EVM management, material management, vulnerability mapping and postal ballot, election expenditure, etc.


The nodal officers and the assistant nodal officers have been told to report to the District Electoral office from the date of announcement of the by-poll to extend necessary assistance in the preparedness and smooth conduct of the election process.

The nodal officers have been told to identify necessary team members and submit the details of the same to the office of the district electoral office.

Meanwhile, a meeting with the Nodal Officers and Liaison Officers for the By-Election to 21 Ponda Assembly constituency was chaired by the Collector and District Election Officer, South Goa.

The meeting reviewed election preparedness with emphasis on randomisation of polling personnel, inter-departmental coordination, logistics and adherence to Election Commission guidelines to ensure smooth conduct of the electoral process.
