Man booked for killing dog in Camurlim

A 64-year-old man from Camurlim-Bardez has been booked on charges of brutally beating and later killing a stray dog by throwing it into a river near the Camurlim Jetty late Friday evening. According to reports, the incident took place at around 7 pm when the accused, Dilip Khorjuvekar, brutally hit a stray dog. He then tied the dog’s hind legs with a rope and threw it into the river, killing the animal.

The incident has sparked outrage among animal lovers. Apoorva Naik, an officer of the District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA) later filed a complaint with the Colvale police. Acting on the complaint, Colvale police registered a case against Khorjuvekar and is investigating the case.
