Kare College chase down target; Govt College Borda seal narrow victory

Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao registering a five-wicket win over Agnel Institute of Technology & Design, Assagao, while Government College of Commerce & Economics, Borda, Margao edged past Sridora Caculo College, Mapusa by seven runs on Day 11 of the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Men’s Cricket Championship 2025“26.

In the first match, Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law opted to bowl after winning the toss and restricted Agnel Institute to 123/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Soham Joshi top-scored with 47 off 35 balls, while Kaushal Desai delivered an impressive spell of 4 for 21 and Aryan Dessai chipped in with 2 for 13.

Chasing 124, Kare College completed the target comfortably in 13.2 overs, finishing at 124/5. Chiranjai Dessai led the charge with a brisk 35 off 20 deliveries, supported by Vishwesh Devidas who added 26 off 15 balls. Rahul Rathod picked up two wickets for Agnel Institute. Chiranjai Dessai was named the best batter of the match, while Kaushal Desai earned the best bowler honours.

In the second match, Government College, Borda elected to bat first and posted 127/8 in 20 overs. Bansil Pandya anchored the innings with a solid 66 off 52 balls, while Moh Huz contributed 19. Vardhan Misquin was the standout bowler for Sridora Caculo College, claiming 4 for 14.

In reply, Sridora Caculo College were bowled out for 120 in 18.5 overs, falling short by seven runs. Misquin followed up his bowling effort with a quickfire 46 off 25 balls, and Dhruv Lotlekar added 22, but it wasn’t enough to secure victory. Irfan Sheikh starred with the ball for Government College, picking up 3 for 30, while Bansil Pandya and Mohammad Afzal claimed two wickets each.

Bansil Pandya was adjudged the best batter of the match, while Irfan Sheikh took home the best bowler award.
