Deendayal Port Authority dominate 44th All India Major Ports tennis tournament

The 44th All India Major Ports Lawn Tennis Tournament 2026 concluded on a high note at the SAG Tennis Courts, Fatorda, with players from major port authorities across the country delivering spirited and high-quality performances.

In the Men’s Singles category, Lalit Kumar of Deendayal Port Authority clinched the title after an impressive run through the tournament. Srinivas Murthy of New Mangalore Port Authority finished runner-up, while Prasad Fadte of Mormugao Port Authority and Apoorv of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority shared third place.

The Men’s Doubles crown went to the Mormugao Port Authority pair of Sandesh Satardekar and Punit Fadte. Lalit Kumar and Manish Hingorani of Deendayal Port Authority settled for the runners-up spot. Third place was shared by G.V. Kumar and G.G. Ansari of Chennai Port Authority, and Srinivas Murthy with Gunashekharan of New Mangalore Port Authority.

In the 45+ Singles category, Manish Hingorani of Deendayal Port Authority lifted the trophy, with Sandesh Satardekar of Mormugao Port Authority finishing runner-up. Anil Ganwani of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority and Gunashekharan of New Mangalore Port Authority secured joint third place.

The 45+ Doubles title was claimed by Prasad Prabhu and Gunashekharan of New Mangalore Port Authority. P.M.R. Prasad Rao and D.S.R. Raju of Visakhapatnam Port Authority finished runners-up, while Manish Hingorani and Kamal Asnani of Deendayal Port Authority, along with Anil Ganwani and Anil Chirlekar of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, shared third place.

In the 50+ Singles event, Mahesh Hingorani of Deendayal Port Authority emerged champion, defeating fellow port mate Sunil Menon, who finished runner-up. Nagendra Sharma of Paradip Port Authority and G.V. Kumar of Chennai Port Authority secured third place.

The 50+ Doubles title went to Mahesh Hingorani and Sunil Menon of Deendayal Port Authority. I.G. Stanley and Jitendra Nikhare of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority were runners-up. Third place was shared by G.V. Kumar and Gunashekharan of Chennai Port Authority, and Praveen and Chandrashekhar of New Mangalore Port Authority.

The closing ceremony was attended by Chief Guest Dr N. Vinodkumar, IPoS, Chairperson of Mormugao Port Authority, and Guest of Honour Shri Vinayaka Rao, Deputy Chairperson, MPA. Also present on the dais were Capt. Soubhagya Ranjan Pattanayak, President of MPSC and Deputy Conservator, and Shri Milind Dessai, Deputy CAO and General Secretary of MPSC.

PANAJI: The Goa Judo Association will organize the State Judo Championships 2025“26 for Sub-Junior Boys and Girls, Cadets, Juniors, and Senior Men and Women on March 2 and 3, 2026.The championship will be held at the Badminton Hall, Peddem Sports Complex.Judokas from across Goa are expected to participate in the two-day event, which will serve as a platform to showcase talent and select players for upcoming national-level competitions.
