MARGAO: CRC Chinchinim registered a commanding 4-0 victory over Ambelim Sports Club to advance to the next round of the 34th St. Rocks Super Soccer Tournament, played at Majorda on Saturday.

The match began on a cautious note, with both sides showing disciplined defending in the opening 20 minutes and neither able to break the deadlock. However, CRC Chinchinim soon took control of the contest. In the 25th minute, Nigel Viegas opened the scoring, followed quickly by Shario Gomes, who doubled the lead just three minutes later to give Chinchinim a 2-0 advantage at halftime.

Ambelim’s Clens Pinto worked hard in attack and created several opportunities, but the Chinchinim defence remained solid and uncompromising throughout the first half.

After the break, Ambelim’s aggressive approach resulted in a free-kick opportunity for Chinchinim, which Rowan Fernandes converted with precision to extend the lead to 3-0. Despite continued efforts from Clens Pinto, including a powerful attempt on goal, the Ambelim attack was repeatedly denied by an inspired Chinchinim goalkeeper.

In the 40th minute, Larsen Rebello put the result beyond doubt by scoring the fourth goal, sealing a dominant 4-0 win for CRC Chinchinim.
