Anand CA emerged champions of the 4th U-13 Exposure Trophy organised by the Margao Cricket Academy after edging past Union Gymkhana by two runs in a thrilling final.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Anand CA posted 103/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Swaraj Govekar top-scored with 36 runs, while Salman Dharwadkar (2/23) and Raghav V (2/16) impressed with the ball for Union Gymkhana.
Chasing 104 for victory, Union Gymkhana fell just short despite a spirited effort, managing 101/7 in 20 overs. Anand CA’s disciplined bowling in the death overs proved decisive, with Aarav Shahapurkar starring with figures of 3/21. Raghav V contributed 21 runs, while Vishrut Kundarnad added 26 in the chase.
Former cricketer Dr Venkatesh Nevagi attended the final as chief guest and presented the prizes.
Aarav Shahapurkar of Anand CA was named Man of the Final, while Aryan Mishra of Rajasthan Royals won the Best Batter award. Mohammed Ehtesham of VDCA was adjudged Best Bowler, and Mohammed Zian Salemwale was declared Man of the Tournament.
Dr Nevagi presented the winners’ trophy to the Anand CA captain in the presence of Konkan Railway’s Rukkaiyya Naik, MCA’s Hemant Angle, and coach Anand Karandi.
