MARGAO

Agxem SC emerged champions of the Curtorim Interward Football Tournament 2026 after defeating SC Virabhat 9-8 in a dramatic tie-breaker in the final organised by Sporting Club Virabhat at St Alex Church Ground, Curtorim.

SC Virabhat got the first opportunity to break the deadlock, but Josslan Fernandes failed to hit the target as his effort sailed over the crossbar. Agxem SC also created several scoring chances but were unable to find the back of the net in the first half.

After the break, Agxem came close to taking the lead when Micheal Paes' powerful shot struck the crossbar and went out of play. With both teams unable to score during regulation time, the match ended goalless and was decided through a tie-breaker.

Agxem SC held their nerve from the spot to secure a thrilling 9-8 victory and lift the title.
