This refers to 'Govt unveils tech-driven waste management drive' (TGE - March 7, 2026). Waste management has always been a difficult issue and so it is good to know that the state government is proposing to resort to a tech-driven waste management system. We need to go to the root of the issue and that is implementation of guidelines and policies. Industrial or medical waste, for instance, if not disposed of in the proper manner is bound to have a bad effect.
As far as domestic waste or trash/empty biscuit pouches, etc., are concerned, it is basic sense that should prevail. Civic sense must be inculcated in children in school itself. Is it asking for too much? And of course, waste management is a crucial issue in the rest of the country as well.
