I wish to draw attention to the lack of accessible centres for Aadhaar and Voter ID corrections in Bardez, Goa. While authorities claim that updates can be done easily through online portals, the reality is very different for many citizens, especially senior citizens and those without registered mobile numbers. For the past two years, I have observed a senior citizen struggling to correct his Aadhaar and voter card details, forced to travel repeatedly without success. In such cases, online services are not practical. Physical centres are essential, yet they are either difficult to locate or inconveniently placed, such as the Aadhaar facility in Porvorim. Although Aadhaar updates and voter corrections are said to be processed within weeks, the absence of clearly identified, functional centres creates unnecessary hardship. Illiterate citizens and those unfamiliar with digital platforms are particularly affected. The government must establish well-known, easily accessible service centres in Bardez to assist people with updates related to name, address, date of birth, and mobile numbers. Booth Level Officers should also be more active in assisting voters. A proactive and inclusive approach is necessary to ensure that essential identity services reach every citizen.
